The Bethany Project

Let the King be enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your Lord.

Psalm 45:11

The Bethany Project is a ministry based out of Athens Link Fellowship, in Athens, Georgia. The Bethany Project was created from a desire for every woman and teenage girl found in adult entertainment to be restored to a place of hope, security, love, and dignity.

The Bethany Project's mission is to minister to women of all of ages, encouraging healthy identity in Christ. We exist to pray and learn with the women of our generation in order to reconcile ourselves to Christ and each other. Reconciliation involves restoration to God, ourselves, and our community.

We wish to model our community after Queen Esther in the Bible by being in the position to be used to give women the fighting chance to have victory over oppression. Oppression can be defined as “a sense of being weighed down in body or mind” and “unjust or cruel exercise of authority or power.” Esther was a Jew and was groomed to become Queen of Persia. She saved the Jews against genocide in Persia, by giving them a chance to fight back against the very people trying to attack them. The Bethany Project is doing this by coming from our common places into royalty and speaking out on behalf of, and empowering every woman, in order to fight and crush the oppression, just as Esther did. She changed history for her kingdom and natives and that’s what we are seeking to do here, starting in Athens, Georgia and spreading to the world.
